U.S. Corrected For Not Respecting God's Creation and Provision (6.2.10, Isaiah 18 n.2 of 4)

In February '09 the Lord delivered a word from Isaiah 18 warning U.S. of a coming pruning as well as the chastening of Israel for each nation's trusting more in military prowess and international coalitions, and war, and money making than in God (Even the Most Powerful Must Trust In God, Isaiah 18 N. 1).

(6-2-10) The pruning of America has come in the form of an out of control and self serving Wall Street risking the domestic and world wide financial system and also in the form of the lingering Deep Horizon oil well disaster off the Gulf Coast. Both betray an out of control corporate greed and governmental negligence and a disdain for God's more than adequate provisions for wealth and bounty for all His creation, especially us stewards of it, us people, all made in his image and likeness.

Isaiah 18,5-6: ""For before the harvest, once the flowering is over and blossom turns to ripening grape, the branches will be cut off with pruning knives, and the shoots taken off, cut away. All has been abandoned to the mountain birds of prey and the wild animals; the birds of prey will summer on them, and all the wild animals winter on them.""

Isaiah 24,5-6a: ""The earth is defiled by the feet of it's inhabitants, for they have transgressed the laws, violated the decree, broken the everlasting covenant [Genesis 9,9-17]. This is why the curse has consumed the earth and it's inhabitants pay the penalty.""

We have all heard of the rainbow covenant, whereby the rainbow recalls the agreement between man, and by extension all creation under the care of man, and God to work together. To respect each other and know each other's place in relation to the other. All man had to do was respect God as his creator and likewise respect his creation. The faith of Abraham wasn't needed. Nor the law of Sinai and circumcision. Not even the grace of the Christ risen from the dead was required. Just a willingness to allow God to be our creator and a willingness to steward well his creation and provision.

Thus, Genesis 9,16: "When the bow is in the clouds I shall see it and call to mind the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth, that is, all living things."

So America we are a great and generous nation, who apparently has broken the easiest and most basic creation covenant with God. Instead of respecting God's creation and provision, we have used these to build monuments to our own claimed self sufficiency and to separate ourselves from God as Creator. And now we are clearly being pruned. 

Yet there is always hope for those who peg their lives to God. It's time to follow God United States of America! It's time for us to bless him, and his Holy Name. It's time for us to stop following his false sons and daughters of industry, politics and Wall Street, and in the church who grasp to replace God, and by wealth and worldly power demmand, and often get, a type of worship that takes the place of the living God of Israel and puts many innocents under the power of mammon (for a historical parallel from Israel see Zephaniah 3,1-4 whereby such leaders of Judah refused correction, profaned what was Holy and said "It's all good" only to reluctantly make themselves vassals to Assyria, against Isaiah's advice of 2Kings 19,6, in 701 BC per 2Kings 18,14-16. This may have parallels to our heavy debt to China). 

Yet there is hope. Isaiah 18,7 suggests by the end of this summer we, a 'people tall and bronzed', will recognize the error of our ways and offer again a sacrifice of faith fitting of the Lord God Allmighty, who resides on Mount Zion. And the pruned will have been pruned and shown to follow their false gods, or will choose to accept God's correction. And the overcoming faithful, God's remnant, will see this pruning and recommit to the right path following Jesus Christ, messiah and Lord of all creation. There's peace and bounty following him.
